Dear All

It is such a blessing to have our roof ON! Because we are putting a top storey on the office at one end, the roof is not yet complete, but the main workshop area is covered, giving us a lot more space to work. In fact last night the neighbour asked if we could host a community meeting about water purification, which we were happy to do.

If we had understood what the water purification meeting was all about, we might not have been so willing - it is some fantastic 'get rich quick' scheme where the poor innocents fork out about $1,000 each for some magic disc that makes the water so 'alive' that your strength immediately increases if you dash a bit of water on your hands. I hope the poor folks here are not deluded - the real meeting where he takes their orders is at another venue tonight. As I saw all those people lined up with their water bottles, seeking some magic cure for the ills of life, my thoughts turned to another time, when Jesus cried out "Ho every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters and buy without money and without price".

But it did occur to me that we could hold meetings for the community in that nice big workshop, with colourful slides or dvd's and share the Water of Life with them, give health talks and all sorts. And all the better if we were to involve our students in the presentations. I am inspired by the messages from Dr Mark's family in the Banks Group, where their teachers have held small group studies for months, leading up to a three week session of publicly presented meetings by the same teachers, with people making decisions.

This last week of school continues busy with students finishing off furniture, being assessed for practical and theory and some out on work experience. The camporee will be 19th - 25th and I've had a number come to me to make last minute uniforms - have a Leader's Jacket to make and two pairs of trousers - shouldn't take too long. Just have to cover myself in Rid and venture out to the cutting table - the mosquitoes are as bad as they were at the beginning when we came.

I am told my web page director has updated the web page. We need to send him some pics again but that might have to wait until early January - please be patient.

We have already received many requests for Application Forms for prospective students, so it will be of great interest to see how many actually apply to come in 2011.

As the holiday season approaches, and the emphasis is on family and togetherness, may you enjoy some rest and recreation and be ready to face the challenges of a new year.

Greetings from us here at
